Our First ER Visit

On Saturday night, Parker made his first visit to the ER. He was playing with a hat that had a small buckle and it hit his eye. After a few hours, he was still crying and we could tell it was bothering him. So we made our trip to Medical City around 11:00 that night.

I hate waiting rooms because I am a germaphobe. The whole time I was sitting there I kept worrying about what else we were going to catch.

After the doctors examined him, they determined that he had scratched his cornea. They gave us some ointment and we were on our way. By this time we are all exhausted and ready to go home.

Parker was back to himself on Sunday and we spent the whole day in our PJs!

Today, we had a follow up with the eye doctor and he got a great report. I wish I had taken pictures of us there but he was not in the mood. :-)

8 months

Parker turned 8 months old on January 20th! It is so hard to believe that he has only been here for 8 months. I have completely forgotten about how life was like before he was born!

Parker's 8 Month Stats

Weight: 20.9 lbs

Height: 29 inches

He went to see his Endocrinologist this past week and all his blood work came back normal. He has started to do so many things the past couple of months!

*He can stand while holding on to something. Sometimes he will get brave and let go and stand there for a few seconds before he falls.

*He can pull up and sit down from a standing position

*He can crawl

*He has started to say "mamama"

*I changed his schedule a little, so now he is eating a breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He gets 4 bottles a day, ranging from 6-8 ounces.

*He loves food and is starting to not really care for a bottle or formula.

*He sleeps like a champ! Usually falls asleep around 7 and wakes up around 7 the next morning.

*I could spend hundreds of dollars on the latest toys and he would still want to play with pans, spoons, and hangers :-)

*He has 4 teeth!

* He is really starting to love on Oakley. I have a feeling they are going to be quite a duo.

5 Months

Parker turned 5 months old recently. This is such a fun age! I love every minute of it!

Parker, here is what you are doing:

* I am not sure how much you weigh or how long you are because we do not have a check-up this month, but you are sure growing!

*You are loving your fruits and vegetables. Your favorite fruit so far is pears and favorite vegetable is sweet potatoes.

*You are wearing size 3 diapers.

*You love playing in your walker.

*You can roll over from your stomach to back pretty good. You are so close to rolling over from back to stomach.

*You sleep from about 8:00ish-6:30. On the weekends you sleep until 8.

*You are wearing size 9 month old clothing and we recently bought your first pair of shoes.

*You sit up pretty good but still need a little help.

*You only need/want your pacifier if you are sleepy.

*At night, you have to have your feet covered or you can't fall asleep.

We love you so much!!

Our "first" child was our precious chocolate lab named Oakley. We got him on the 4th of July of 2009.

We have had our share of adventure. He loves water but gets ear infections so bad. So, we have to limit fun time in the water. He hates being outside. He loves to be with us inside. He thinks he might miss something. He loves to chew on his bones and has an addiction to socks. :-)

The day Parker came home, he was very depressed because someone else was getting all the attention. However, after awhile Parker and Oakley warmed up to each other. Oakley is so gentle around Parker and its like he understands Parker is a baby. I am sure they will become best friends as time goes on.

Happy 4 Months Parker!

On September 20th, Parker turned 4 months old! He is growing up so fast and I love this age. His doctor's appointment went well. That same day he had a checkup with his Endocrinologist and they drew blood from his arm this time. He was a little trooper!

*17 lbs. 3 oz

*26 inches long

*wears size 3 diapers

*6-9 month clothing

*eats 5, 6 ounce bottles a day plus 1 tablespooon or cereal/fruit and cereal/vegetable

*loves to laugh

*has noticed Oakley and just stares at him

*sleeps 8-6:30

*loves standing/sitting up

*almost can roll over from back to tummy

*loves chewing on blankets

2 Months, The Doctor, and a Weekend with Julie!

Parker is 2 months old! He has grown so much since last month and has accomplished so many new things.

He is wearing size 2 diapers and mostly 3 month old clothing. He can fit into some of his 3-6 month old clothes. He weighs 12 pounds 8 ounces and is 24 inches long. He is in the 85th percentile.

He is on a great schedule and usually sleeps from 11 to 6:30 every night! Hallelujah!

He can lift his head pretty good. He loves to look to his right, so we are practicing looking to our left during tummy time and he absolutely hates it! He is starting to smile and coo more and smiles the most in the morning.

He went for his 2 month appointment on Monday and was feeling very relaxed BEFORE the shots!

However, that soon changed after the shots. He wasn't to happy for the rest of the day.

This weekend we got to spend some time with my sister, Julie. She was in town and Parker was very excited to see her :-)
